But not only are we indwelt by the Spirit, but we are also empowered by the Spirit.
He lives in us to give us the power and grace on a daily basis to glorfiy Christ, to testify about the gospel, to be a good witness, and to successfully face temptation.
Read Acts 1:8
These Scriptures teach us that the Holy Spirit strengthens our inner beings and gives us power to be witnesses and to grow in Christ.
But not only are we indwelt and empowered by the Holy Spirit, but we are sanctified as well. Do not be scared off by this word “sanctification”. It simply means that the Holy Spirit sets us apart and works in our lives to make us more holy. It is what we have been looking at all along in this journey—the process of being conformed to the image of Christ.
Read 2 Thessalonians 2:13 and 5:23
Think about the power of the Holy Spirit in your life. He is the one who produces the fruit of the Spirit within you. He is the one who empowers you to witness for Jesus. He is the one who gives you the daily strength to face life’s struggles. He is the one who is working in you God’s grace to become more and more like Jesus.
In other words, the Holy Spirit is indispensible to your spiritual growth. Without Him working in our lives, you and I are nothing!
Spend some time today thanking the Holy Spirit for His work of grace in your life and for transforming you to become more like Jesus.
Good Holy Spirit,
I am so thankful for your wonderful work of grace in my life. Thank you for coming to live inside of me and never leaving me. Thank you that I am sealed with you and that Your presence guarantees I will make it to heaven. Thank you for the power that You show in my life every day. Thank you for making me more like Jesus. I submit to your will and desire for You to do a deep work in my life to transform me into the image of Christ.
In Christ’s name and for His glory,
